Favorite Products of 2012!

Hi girls!

I know I'm a bit late for this but I couldn't pass on it!
I love seeing other people's favorites... I thought you might want to know what I've enjoyed the most in 2012... I've already talked about the majority of these so I will always link the full review if it has been done!

I have to say that drugstore makeup have really impressed me in 2012! Let's hope it continues in 2013!

Let start with skincare/haircare...

Bioderma Créaline H2O Micellar Water: I won't go too much into details about this because everybody loves this! I'm no exception! It works great to remove eye and face makeup without irritating my sensitive skin.

Avène Hydrance Optimale UV Riche Hydrating Cream: Avène has been my favorite skincare brand for almost 3 years. I will never be without this cream! In the summer time I use the lighter version. It has a SPF of 20, which is great for everyday use. It moisturizes my face really well without being greasy. This is a holy grail product for sure!

Avène Cold Cream Lip Cream: I've used this lip balm since I've ran out of my Nuxe Rêve de Miel. I love it! It keeps my lips soft and plumped. I apply it before I go to bed and wake up with soft baby lips!

Caudalie Eau de Beauté: I love using this during summer when my skin is a bit oilier. It tightens my pores really well and keeps my skin nice and fresh. The smell is very herbal and invigorating!

Kérastase Elixir Ultime Oil: This is the best hair oil I've tried so far... It smells divine! I use it after I blow dry my hair. It gets rid of any frizziness and makes your hair very healthy and shiny looking.

Clinique "All About Eyes Rich" Eye Cream: Best eye cream if you have dry skin! The consistency is very thick, almost like butter. It moisturizes very well and keeps
the eye contour nice and hydrated!

Soap and Glory Hand Food: I've discovered this hand cream towards the end of 2012. It deserves all the hype! It smells amazing, keeps my hands nice and soft and is not greasy at all! Review here!

La Roche-Posay BB Cream: Review here!

For fragrances I've loved the "Shea" Body Mist by The Body Shop during summer.
For winter I've rediscovered my beloved Chanel Chance!

Eyes/ Face:

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles: I've already talked a lot about this! I like the sponge tip applicator, the coverage it gives and the fact that it doesn't settle in my fine lines!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation: Probably the foundation I've used the most last year! I'm trying to use it up, there is only a little bit left!
The color 52 "Vanilla" is a perfect match for my skin tone. It doesn't look orange at all. It gives a beautiful finish and never looks cakey.

Maybelline One by One Volume Express Mascara: Again, I've talked about this a lot last year! I invite you to read my full review with before and after pictures here

MAC Prep+Prime Finishing Powder: This has been my powder of choice to set my liquid foundation. It's transparent and very fine. You can't detect it on the skin. It gives a beautiful velvety finish. I love that it's in a compact. It's very handy to touch up during the day!

Catrice Glamour Doll Volume Mascara: I've enjoyed this mascara a lot! I love the brush made of plastic bristles. It's a good everyday mascara if you like nicely defined eyelashes!

Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliner in dark brown: This is a very pigmented pencil! It goes on really nice and smooth and can be blended easily with a brush. Once it's on it doesn't move!

For lips:

YSL Glossy Stains: I love these! The consistency is P.E.R.F.E.C.T!
Full review here

Revlon Lip Butter in "Peach Parfait": I love the consistency of these, they don't dry out my lips and have a decent pigmentation.

L'Oréal Shine Caresse Lip Stain in "Lolita" (101): These are really good dupes for the YSL Glossy Stains!

Clinique Chubby Stick in "Mighty Mimosa": To me this is everything I need in terms of lip products (if I could only own one!). It's moisturizing, gives a hint of color and is very purse friendly!

Maybelline Color Tatto Gel Cream Eyeshadows: These are amazing! They are as good as MAC paintpots for a fraction of the price! Honorable mentions for "On and On Bonze" and "Permanent Taupe" which I used A LOT! Review here and here!

L'Oréal Color Infallible Pressed Pigments: Amazing color pay-off with hardly any fall outs! I love these, especially "Amber Rush" (a beautiful rosegold).

My 3 favorite brushes have been the Louise Young Blush Brush (LY 06), review here,
the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply my liquid foundation and the Setting Brush to apply my concealer.

That's it girls! I hope you enjoyed this 2012 summary...
Feel free to leave your favorites for 2012 in the comments section! I would love to discover them!

Keep on smiling! ;-)

  1. I love so many of these products as well! The YSL Glossy Stains are just wonderful and I love the color Tattoos by Maybelline - and I love the Caudalie Eau de Beaute as well!

I'll have to try that Avene balm once I'm done my Nuxe as well! Sounds like it works really well!

  4. Thanks for your comment Annick!
The Avène lip cream works really well! It's different from Nuxe, it leaves a shiny finish on the lips! Looks very pretty.
    Take care!

  9. Great post!

Ahhh where to begin. I have a question for you: do you like the Avene lip balm more than the Nuxe one?

I love that Bourjois foundation...so much that I barely use it because I don't want to run out! (it's very hard to find it anywhere near me)

I'm also very curious to try those L'oreal eyeshadows. I haven't heard anything but great things about them.

  10. Hi Patricia!

Hum that's a tough one! I love them both! The Nuxe one is a great base for lipstick because it has a matte finish. I've never found that in other brands... It's very unique!
The Avène lip cream is also really good but it has a glossy finish... They are different but the same, LOL!
If you had to choose between both I would say go for Nuxe! It's a more versatile product... It repairs and keeps the lips soft and plumped AND is great before applying lip colors!
    Hope that helps!
    Good night! :-)

  11. Oh and by the way Patricia, yes you have to try those L'Oréal eyeshadows! They are amazing! The pigmentation is awesome and you hardly get any fallouts! They almost feel like butter!

    Good night!

That is so interesting about the Nuxe one. I'll get my hands on it and the loreal shadows whenever I can!

    xoxo night!
